After a recent experience it was reaffirmed to me how important networking is in. I was asking some very successful colleagues about a marketing project I had and they referred to a guy named Matthew Soren who has done a lot of behind the scenes work on different online marketing ventures. Apparently he’s worked on a lot of different campaigns in site optimization to increase conversions on projects and landing pages in that I certainly was not aware of. It was funny because I went to the website www.matthewsoren.com but it didn’t have any information on it relating to marketing or anything, it was just a parked page at the time. However I found Matthew Soren on linkedin.com that showed different site, project and optimization work on it.
What’s interesting to me is you find the good ones when you network with guys in the heart of the business working with behind the scenes pros that you wouldn’t know about otherwise without the connection. Networking certainly isn’t the only way to do business, but if you can, great.
The key that was reaffirmed to me is how important networking is especially related to business. If you go and pick someone just because they look good on the surface, you may be missing out on proven pros that you simply wouldn’t find otherwise without networking. That’s just my 2 cents!
