Robbers barged into a Jersey City, NJ jewelry store tying up and employee and pistol whipping the owner on January 6th. The burglers managed to get away with jewlery from several display cases as well as loose diamonds which were stored in an unlocked safe.

Police describe when arriving at Jarlley Jewelers on West Side Avenue that afternoon they found a 66 year old employee with his hands bound by a plastic zip tie, and the 49 year old owner on the floor bleeding.

The owner said a man came into the store and asked to see a loose diamond and while he was showing him a few items, a second man entered the store and said, “This is a hold up.” That’s when the first man took out a silver gun and struck the owner in the forehead with it while the second robber jumped over the counter and bound the employee’s hands, reports said.

As the robber holding the gun stood over the store owner, the second man started to stuff a blue bag with any jewelry and loose diamonds he could grab. It’s unclear as to the diamond prices that were ultimately stolen until a full inventory is performed.
